Sean and Sara’s popularity as a murder-solving duo has gained momentum. But it’s not until it comes time for a local television interview that they meet Reanne Mable and end up finding themselves involved with a high-profile investigation.

Reanne is the sister-in-law of Albany’s Mayor Davenport and his daughter, Halie, has gone missing from her university campus. With a desire to keep the matter out of the media spotlight, Davenport turns to Sean and Sara to find her. But with the police already investigating the matter, taking this case would pit them against their friends from the police department, including their former sergeant Jimmy Voigt.

As time moves on, though, the fate of the girl is not up for a vote, and the McKinleys set out to find out what really happened. With the mayor taking the heat for a recently passed zoning bylaw, is an enraged small business owner behind Halie’s disappearance? Or did she simply grow tired of living in her father’s limelight and run away?

To get the answers, Sean and Sara will need to use all the resources at their disposal and may have to call upon their good friend Jimmy for help, after all.

Introduction to the mains characters from Politics is Murder

Meet Sean and Sara McKinley. They were partners with Albany PD in the homicide division, and Sean had eyes for Sara from the start. She, however, wanted to keep their relationship platonic so as not to complicate things on the job, but when Sean becomes the benefactor of a wealthy businessman, quitting their jobs becomes a real option and Sean proposes. The rest, as they say, is history.

Sean and Sara are salt-of-the-earth people. They are all about making a difference in the world around them, and even though they gave up their badges, murder seems to be all around them. And they soon find out that being retired isn’t the dream they thought it would be. They’d bored and feeling without purpose. But they don’t stay in this state for long because they find “trouble” when they’re on their honeymoon in Cancun.

From there, the antics continue, with dead bodies dropping into their laps. Well, the investigations anyhow. They do all they can to solve the murders that come their way including undercover hijinks. With unlimited funds to back them and their experience and know-how, killers better watch out.

In Politics is Murder, they find themselves once again in the media spotlight when they agree to being interviewed on a local television station. Once again, an investigation comes to them. The host is related to Albany’s mayor and his daughter has gone missing from her university campus. It’s not the usual case for the McKinleys to take on, but they still find murder and mayhem along the way.
