Book Excerpt:

Real things started happening. No more ducking my head. No more playing the blame-game. That’s the problem being sober and taking life on without a drink in my hand. Don’t get me wrong. My drinking is not an excuse for who I’m not. But my NOT drinking is the only way I’ll find out who I was before taking that first drink.

It was time for me to start doing sober what I always said I’d do drunk.

All eyes were on me; mine are wide open.

Featuring Author, Lindsey Paige

Driving Me Mad
Lindsay Paige
(Sanity #1)

Publication date: July 6th 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

He was my therapist.

She was my client.

He’s the person I lean on and turn to.

She’s the person who brings me relief when there seems to be none.

He makes me smile and laugh when anxiety and depression consume me.

She helps me breathe when depression is choking me.

I don’t know how to live without him.

I don’t know how to be honest with her.

Are we driving each other mad?

He’s quiet, lost in his own head, and most likely, he’s still worrying. So far, with this thing we have going on, he’s never really pulled away from me. Although, the opportunity hasn’t been there before either. That scares the hell out of me. He’s my rock, always has been. How am I supposed to stay steady and strong with him cracking?

When we walk outside and he goes to open the passenger door for me, I stop him. “Trace,” I start, but no other words come.

He sighs. The cold air is making his breath visible. “I know, Britt. I know.” He pulls me against him and wraps his arms around me. I’m glad he knows because I sure don’t. My head rests on his chest, my arms firmly around him, and I relish in the feel of his big, strong, sturdy body. We stand there in silence for about a minute. “It’s going to be hard, you know.”

“Why?” Why does it have to be hard? Why does everything have to be so damn hard all the damn time?

“Because we’re both not quite sane,” he says with a half-sigh and half-serious tone.

I can’t help it; I laugh. I turn my face inward to press my forehead against his jacket, and I can’t stop freaking giggling. We’re not crazy; but he’s right. We’re not quite sane either.

Inside the Book:

Title: Exploding the Big Bang Theory
Author: Joseph Donnelly
Publisher: AuthorHouse
Genre: Religion
Format: Ebook

The essence of this my third effort at publication now stands to be the true basis of our human species new working philosophy. My main interest is of our relationship with God on all fronts. Simple when realised we under the split headings of humanity in tribe, clan, national or of different skin colour configurations, have amassed over 10.000 religious philosophies to meet our personal needs. Of which none seem to work for all over the limit of tribe, clan national or colour configuration?! Because of the very modern sophisticated trend of rejecting God, generally understood to have been the creator; and in using the guessed at elements of how science really works or had been given credit for how it must work. Many in that field of study have felt qualified enough to snub those 10,000 religions by stating there never is or was God in any case? My personal stand and standards revolve around humanity in us, getting the understanding of God right in the first place, but slightly askew in the opinion we were expressly chosen by God to promote enlightenment upon the universe! Yes we got it right, there is God, and no arguments can be valid against this acceptance. To endorse that statement I have been able and commit my to be our understanding of how and why God set the clock of creation from the beginning of all time, now scientifically proved by us, through the open discovery of the God particle, much more than a scientific phenomena? . Part of my style and method stands to the terms of all religions in best choice to be monotheistic by character. This fits with the full progress of all histories naturally connecting with the future of self. Self to be the individuals we each are, but hailed to be of species over tribe, clan, colour or national. Our monotheistic relationship stands also to self, in that however we are in style by colour or creed. We will meet to be the same image of God as seen in self, but only able to manage that wonderful spectacle on Gods terms from our solid belief in God, reality, and our future! See what you think, when from now you can also evaluate the latest of sciences exposé’s over and above some of the scientific ranting of how any form of intelligent life began, but more importantly, why, remembering we are here on Gods terms not ours!

This Calls for a Celebration!

We're happy to be hosting Emilio Corsetti III's SCAPEGOAT Book Trailer Blast today!  Please leave a comment to let him know you stopped by!

About the Book:

Title: Scapegoat: A Flight Crew’s Journey from Heroes to Villians to Redemption

Author: Emilio Corsetti
Publisher: Odyssey Publishing, LLC
Pages: 472

Genre: Nonfiction Narrative

"This is the kind of case the Board has never had to deal with-a head-on collision between the credibility of a flight crew versus the airworthiness of the aircraft." NTSB Investigator-in-Charge Leslie Dean Kampschror

On April 4, 1979, a Boeing 727 with 82 passengers and a crew of 7 rolled over and plummeted from an altitude of 39,000 feet to within seconds of crashing were it not for the crew's actions to save the plane. The cause of the unexplained dive was the subject of one of the longest NTSB investigations at that time.

While the crew's efforts to save TWA 841 were initially hailed as heroic, that all changed when safety inspectors found twenty-one minutes of the thirty-minute cockpit voice recorder tape blank. The captain of the flight, Harvey "Hoot" Gibson, subsequently came under suspicion for deliberately erasing the tape in an effort to hide incriminating evidence. The voice recorder was never evaluated for any deficiencies.

From that moment on, the investigation was focused on the crew to the exclusion of all other evidence. It was an investigation based on rumors, innuendos, and speculation. Eventually the NTSB, despite sworn testimony to the contrary, blamed the crew for the incident by having improperly manipulated the controls, leading to the dive.

This is the story of an NTSB investigation gone awry and one pilot's decades-long battle to clear his name.

Scapegoat: A Flight Crew’s Journey from Heroes to Villains to Redemption is available at Amazon and B&N.

Book Excerpt:

When TWA 841 departed JFK on April 4, 1979, no one onboard had any idea of the drama that would soon unfold. One passenger, travelling with her husband, wrote in a journal about the smooth takeoff. She had been keeping a personal journal of her travels to share with her children on her return. She documented everything down to the most inconsequential detail such as her ears popping as the aircraft climbed. Days, weeks, and years later, after TWA 841 had become the subject of one of the longest NTSB investigations in the agency’s history, investigators would scrutinize every minute of the flight in a similarly detailed manner. Much like a criminal investigation, the movements, actions, and whereabouts of each crew member were documented. Routine tasks such as when and where the meal trays were exchanged between the cockpit and cabin crew would take on added significance. Unraveling the mystery of TWA 841 was a monumental puzzle that needed to be solved. But unlike any accident investigation before or since, the same evidence investigators would use against the crew would be used by others to challenge the theories put forth by Boeing and the NTSB. Readers can draw their own conclusions as to which version is correct.

Book Description

How do you pass the time handcuffed to somebody who gets on your nerves?

All journalist Roxie Diamond wants is the chance to ride out with the London night patrol. Reporting on women who sell their bodies to survive is her latest assignment and she's on the case. Trouble is, the two hot cops she's partnered with couldn't be more different, Officer Rudy is displeased to have a tag-along, but he can brood all he likes while she admires his partner's cute ass and broad shoulders.

Roxie doesn't count on being mistaken for an accessory in human trafficking. Before she knows it she's snatched, interrogated, and her world is turned upside down. Just as well her sullen cop takes her safety seriously. Though how much help he'll be when she finds herself handcuffed to him in an abandoned warehouse, locked up for goodness knows how long, she doesn't know.

Will he open up? Protect her? Will the anger in his eyes turn to desire when she confesses her lust? Will he admit to the passion she can feel brimming beneath his surface? And can they really do that, while in such a dangerous predicament? And just how close is he to his partner?

Roxie Diamond shoved her phone, lipstick, and keys into her shoulder bag. Her stomach was tense with excitement and her chest held a fluttery feeling. She’d been waiting for this opportunity for months. Her boss at the newspaper had pulled strings and called in favors to get her out on the beat, and now, finally, it was going to happen. She’d be winning prizes for her real life insight into the women who worked the streets of London before she knew it.

She grinned and checked her teeth for lipstick in the mirror. She hoped she’d get a hot cop to ride with. But more than that she wanted a guy who was chatty, didn’t mind dishing the dirt, telling her how it really was on the streets of London with the prostitutes, the johns, and the crime lurking in the shadows.

Satisfied she was looking the part in black boots with a heel, red jeans, and a denim jacket over a black shirt, she headed out of her apartment. She’d wanted to look casual yet smartish. She needed to blend in, but not look like an officer because she wasn’t. She was an investigative reporter, an independent woman with a career on the up. If she was given the information, the insight, she knew damn well she was one of the best on the team for delivering quality, impartial, informative journalism.

It was dark and cold as she stepped outside. It was also nearing midnight. The air held a light mist that dampened her hair and cooled her cheeks. Without lingering, she headed for the Tube station, her heels clicking on the ground.

She wondered what it was like for the prostitutes who hung around on street corners on nights like this. They’d be cold and likely hungry and in need of a fix, but in spite of this, still touting for business, hoping to offer their shivering, skinny bodies in exchange for cash.

What was the city doing to help these women? Where did they come from? What became of their children? Who were the men who sought them out? Why did these woman risk rape, a beating, and murder on a nightly basis?

These were all questions Roxie wanted to address, those and many more. A couple of nights on patrol would hopefully give her the police perspective of the problem. One thing she already knew was these men were on the front line, the good guys with a tough job.

Before long she arrived at Hackney police station. It was a tall concrete building, a 1970s design, and covered in gray pebbledash that appeared black now the rain had gotten to it. There was a single light on in the entrance way that shone through the blue tinted glass window with POLICE written on it.

The door was unlocked, so she stepped into the warmth and up to reception.

“Can I help you?” a uniformed officer asked from behind a tall desk. A large black clock behind him showed that it was now nearly half past midnight.

“Hi, yes.” She smiled. “I’m here for Sergeant Vincent Taylor.”

“And you are?” He didn’t smile back.

Roxie tightened her grip on the handle on her bag, refusing to be intimidated by his steely stare. “I’m Roxie Diamond. He should be expecting me. I’m shadowing him on his shift tonight. Arranged by Phil Ray at News World.”

He continued to stare at her.

“If you could let Sergeant Taylor know I’m here,” she said, her patience wearing thin, but her smile still steady.

He frowned and picked up a black telephone to his right. Hit a button on the top left corner. “Vince. You expecting a…” He flicked his index finger at her.

“Roxie Diamond, News World.”

“Some journalist called Ms. Diamond. Says she’s going out with you tonight.” He was quiet for a moment. “Right you are.” He put the phone down.

“Well?” Roxie asked when he said nothing but bent his head to a ledger.

“Take a seat. He’ll be here in a minute to get you.” He didn’t look at her.

“Thank you.” She glanced behind herself. There was a row of orange plastic chairs bolted to the wall. She sat and put her bag on her lap. She hoped Vincent Taylor would be less grumpy than the guy on reception. He seemed as though he’d had his fill of humanity and was beyond disappointed with what he’d seen.

“Hey, you must be Roxie.”

She turned at the sound of a deep, but upbeat voice.

“Hi,” she said, taking in the sight of a tall, nice-looking police officer with blond hair and blue eyes. “Yes, that’s me.”

“Pleased to meet you.” He held out his hand, the material on his black top creasing slightly at his shoulder.

She took his hand, enjoying the warmth of his palm and the way his big fingers squeezed hers, just a little.
